The jam is on! The current theme is TRAVEL. Make a map that is themed around travel somehow.
Feel free to visit the Discord’s #events channel to share WIP screenshots, share live stream links, or talk about ideas.
We’ll be happy to help any 1st-timers get their Hammer setup & their 1st map compiled if you feel like learning. (There’s also a short tutorial below.)
Happy jamming!
Create something in Hammer with us during the event days!
Be social with us in the Discord or on Twitch.
And join us in Anarchy Arcade for a field trip into some of the creations!
The day after the jam concludes we will all get together inside of AArcade multiplayer for a field trip into some of the maps created during the jam.
We'll also be showcasing screenshots of maps that aren't ready to visit yet.
You are invited!
Welcome to a Hammer Jam! A fun & friendly social event that usually leads to a little bit of learning. There is no formal sign-up process. And there are no rankings or judges. All you have to do to participate is jam out in Hammer with the rest of us during the event days.
Each Hammer Jam has an announced theme. We communicate with each other though the Discord & through Twitch live stream chats. Just drop in & let us know you’ll be jamming with us and we’ll welcome you to the community! At the end of the jam we share screenshots of our creations & organize an in-game field trip for the next day.
New to Hammer? Never made a level before? To help you get up & running I’ve included a project manager inside of Anarchy Arcade at Main Menu > Maps > Level Designer tab. If you create a new project & launch Hammer from there, everything will be auto-configured and you will load into a starter level template designed to get you walking around your creations in-game as quickly & easily as possible. The most important thing to remember is to have fun while building your worlds!
Below is a tutorial video on the very basics of Hammer and how to use the starter level template with it. Unfortunately the video is a bit outdated – so please make special note of these 3 corrections:
